As the movie adaptation of the provocative novel series, Fifty Shades of Grey, hit the silver screen yesterday, we decided to create an inspiration post to ride on the hype. Why don’t we show you Pastel Dress Party’s very own 3 shades of Grey.
Gainsboro Grey is the lightest pallet of the three. This is a feather light shade of grey and could pair best with silver jewelry with a little sparkle. A pop of yellow is a great accent color to complement this grey. Think of this color analogous to a whisper, and you can pair it with something loud and fun. See our bride Angela’s bridesmaids in Gainsboro Gray Laci dresses holding canary yellow bouquets – such a happy pair of color! (see more grey x yellow inspiration here)
Heather Grey carries a subtle tone of warm notes, and it screams “comfortable” and “gentle”. It is subtle and is best paired with softer colors such as Blush and Peach. Nude color shoes will look best with a Heather Grey dress, as it will not appear too overwhelming. Above is a photo of Ashley in the Heather Grey Erin Dress, paired with grey suede shoes.
One of our most popular colors - Charcoal Grey! Due to its boldness, it's best paired with richer colors such as shades of purple, red, and other jewel colors. The major benefit of this timeless grey is that it may be worn throughout all four seasons. Above picture is myself in the Charcoal Whitney Dress.
