"My fiance, Jose, and I have been together since 2010. We began dating on St. Patrick's Day, actually! It was super cute. We'd been hanging out for awhile because he was my big brother's best friend and he showed up that day to pick me up wearing all kinds of crazy green clothing and clover-shaped sunglasses haha. He took me to Big Lake Park and asked me to be his girlfriend. I was 18 at the time. On the Fourth of July, he took me back to the same park and proposed! I said yes, and 1 1/2months later, he got on a bus to be sent to Afghanistan. :( He was in the army at the time. Two weeks after he left, I learned I was 6 weeks pregnant. Oh boy was I excited! And scared, and so was he. About 3 months of pre-deployment training, he got really sick and was sent to the ER. There he learned he had diabetes and as a result, would not be going to Afghanistan. The whole next year and a half was crazy for us; he couldn't come home, he had to stay in Georgia for a med board. Luckily, he got to be there for our first daughter, Lorelei to be born. He got to come home and stay for awhile, but had to make lots of trips for hearings and such. Needless to say, we could not afford a wedding. Life went on. We had our ups and downs, and lots of fights. Life was stressful. We broke the engagement off. Two years later, in March 2014, I found out I was pregnant again! In May, Jose re-proposed. He took me to a fancy dinner with a huge disco ball in the middle of the restaurant. After dinner, he took me to a church and got me out of the car and proposed :) We decided to buy a house before getting married - that way our little family would be settled. We moved in at the beginning of September 2014 and were so happy! Our second daughter, Karmen was born October 16th. I now have the go ahead to start planning our wedding which will be held September 17th, 2016, and I am SO excited and have a lot of ideas! I cannot wait to get married to the love of my life (and have the cutest flower girls there ever was ;)! )"
