From floral arrangements to centerpieces, when wedding planning, the bride and groom have control over almost every little detail. What's the one thing they can’t control? The weather. While you may not be able to predict it entirely, there are some things that you can do to be completely prepared for any situation that comes your way.
Here are our top tips on how to deal with unexpected wedding weather.
Have a Plan B
There's nothing we love more than a good old fashioned outdoor weddings. But when it comes to planning, it's always important to have back up arrangements. Talk to the venue and see if they have an established secondary option in case Mother Nature decides to play a trick on you. This also extends to getting ready for your big day. Plan ahead and see if there is space in the venue for the wedding party to get ready there instead of at home. This stress-free option will eliminate the fear of the wind ruining or getting your dress wet from the rain!
Whether it be your wedding planner, bridesmaid, or groomsman, have someone you trust in charge of executing your Plan B for inclement weather. This will allow a smooth transition for you back up plans and will help keep you cool, calm, and collected. You will be able to focus entirely on your big day because your designated superheroes will have it under control.
Provide extra towels and umbrellas for your guests. If it's a rainstorm and your wedding requires going to different locations, they will eternally grateful. If you're planning a winter wedding and it turns out to be an an especially chilly day, look into providing extra heaters for the event. For traveling between venues on a wet or snowy day, bring extra shoes and let your bridal party know to do the same. Being prepared with the little details will make all the difference!
At the end of the day, you will be married to the person of your dreams and will have a fabulous wedding no matter what. As long as you are smiling and having a great time, your guests will be too!
